To celebrate the French Open (Roland Garros), LACOSTE and its creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista gave carte blanche to the Turkish designer, based in Paris, Yazbukey to realize a joyous capsule collection dedicated to tennis.
After their first collaboration in 2015 – Yazbukey had created the accessories for the “LACOSTE x Lesage” high-fashion collection, the two partners get back for a new more sportswear collection.
Inspired by the “emoticon” version of the tennis ball, Yazbukey had created wacky and colorful characters, naturally based on the famous crocodile and tennis balls capable of emotions.
Thus, for the first time in LACOSTE’s history, the legendary crocodile deserts the polo to give way to new icon. For men, LACOSTE and Yazbukey offer the iconic cotton piqué polo – available in white, navy blue and red – decorated with two motifs: a tennis ball frightened by a crocodile and a tennis ball showing off with dark sunglasses, two T-shirts with graphic prints and a two-tone stripes taffeta swim shorts. On the short, the tennis ball mets its famous companion, the crocodile.
The LACOSTE x Yazbukey collection will be available this month in all LACOSTE stores around the world.
