Century-old shoe company Florsheim, known for its wingtips, has chosen edgy menswear designer Duckie Brown (founded in 2001 by Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, Duckie Brown is a New York City based designer menswear brand), known for its sequins, to create a line of men's dress shoes.

Florsheim
was once a considered the first and only shoe brand that both a young man and his father would buy and wear with a sense of pride and comfort. Now with the launch of Florsheim of Duckie Brown that youthfulness returns and timed honored tradition is born onto a new generation. This cross-pollination of history and design culminates in a collection (coming for Fall 2009) that is distinct, forward thinking and wearable.
Florsheim and Duckie Brown share many similarities.  Both companies embrace and value quality, craftsmanship.  Florsheim (In 1892, Milton Florsheim began producing shoes in a small factory located in Chicago, Illinois.) carries on a five-generation family tradition of creating impeccable, well-made shoes. Duckie Brown is committed to making the finest handmade suits in the tradition handed down by Saville Row. Ultimately, both brands have an authenticity that rings true and sets trends.
The odd couple pairing of Florsheim by Duckie Brown is symbolic of Florsheim’s return to the forefront of the footwear industry. It is a marriage that pays homage to classic Americana while proposing a fashion forward and insightful means for dressing the modern man in style. Florsheim by Duckie is For the Man Who Cares.
